Jing 'an County is located in the northwest of Jiangxi Province, bordering Anyi County in the east, Fengxin County in the south, xiushui county in the west, Wuning County in the north and Lian Yongxiu County in the northeast, 84 kilometers away from Nanchang, the provincial capital. Jing 'an, Xia, Shang and Western Zhou Dynasties are all sites of Yangzhou. The Spring and Autumn Period belongs to Wu. During the Warring States period, the more Wu was destroyed, the more it was returned to Chu. Qin belongs to Jiujiang County. The Western Han Dynasty belongs to Zhang Yu County. The Eastern Han Dynasty belonged to Jianchang County. The Three Kingdoms, the Jin Dynasty, the Northern and Southern Dynasties, the Sui Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties all took the old road. In the first year of Southern Tang Dynasty (937), the land of Jianchang, Fengxin and Wuning was added as Jing 'an Field, and Jing 'an County was built, which still belonged to Hongzhou (later renamed Nanchang House). Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing remain the same. During the Republic of China, it was either directly under the province or under Xunyang Road and the second, first, tenth and ninth administrative regions. Jing 'an was liberated in June, 1949, belonging to Jiujiang District, and was transferred to Nanchang District (later changed to Special Zone) in September of the same year. Since the New Year's Day of 1959, it is under the jurisdiction of Yichun District (later changed to region and city). In the changes of past dynasties, the organizational system of Jing 'an has been upgraded five times by Li, Xiang, Zhen, Chang and Xian, but its name remains unchanged.

At the end of 2003, the county's total population was 137038, of which the non-agricultural population was 4 1 153, with the Han nationality as the majority, and ethnic minorities including Mongolian, Hui, Tibetan, Miao, Zhuang, Manchu, Dong, Yi, Yao, Buyi, North Korea, Tujia, etc.

Jing 'an is rich in natural products and dense in forests, with a forest area of 10 1827 hectares and a forest coverage rate of 79.3%. 1980, Jing' an was listed as a key forestry county in Jiangxi province 17. There are many kinds of precious trees and rare animals. 1977, Cinnamomum camphora in Jing 'an was selected and transported to Beijing to build Chairman Mao Memorial Hall. There are abundant agricultural and forestry specialties, especially ponkan, with a total area of 68,000 mu. In 2003, China Quality Product Development and Service Association awarded Jing 'an County the title of "Hometown of Ponkan in China", which was certified by the Agricultural Products Quality and Safety Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and allowed to use pollution-free agricultural products signs. By the end of 2003, the cultivated land area of the county was 136640 mu, and the ecological base of pollution-free agricultural products such as ponkan, rice, vegetables and tea in Jiangxi Province was built.

Jing 'an has beautiful mountains and rivers and pleasant scenery. Ceng Gong, an essayist in Song Dynasty, once praised Jing 'an as "a thousand counties in Tsinghua". The unique natural environment has created conditions for the development of tourism in Jing 'an, and tourism has become a smokeless industry in Jing 'an. China Sanzhaolun National Demonstration Forest Park has beautiful scenery and pleasant climate. It consists of four scenic spots, namely Luojiaping Primitive Forest, Panlong Lake Water Park, Millennium Temple Baofeng Temple and Kuangzhong Garden, with 93 national scenic spots. The content of harmful bacteria in the air of the scenic spot is almost zero, and the content of negative ions in the air is as high as 6.910.4 million /cm3, which is really rare and is known as the "natural oxygen bar". There are more than 20 villa resorts with different styles, novel shapes, beautiful environment and complete facilities in the scenic spot, which integrates tourism, religious pilgrimage, drifting fishing and leisure and entertainment, and has become a tourist attraction for tourists both inside and outside the province. In 2002, it passed the acceptance of the National Tourism Administration and was rated as a national AAA-level tourist attraction. Baofeng Temple, 20 kilometers north of the city, is a thousand-year-old temple, which is famous at home and abroad. Zu Yidao, a Zen Buddhist, visited here twice and loved its wonderful landscape and flat caves. He said, "On the day when I rot, I will return to my bones here." In the fourth year of Tang Zhenyuan (788), Mazu died, and the relics were buried in the temple to build Mazu Tower Stone Pavilion. Mazu played an important role in the development of Zen. In the history of Buddhism in China, there is a saying that "Mazu built a jungle, and a hundred feet set clear rules". Incense has flourished for more than 1000 years since the mountain was opened in Baofeng Temple. After the war, until the early Cultural Revolution, the temple was completely destroyed, leaving only the Mazu pagoda stone pavilion. In the late 1980s, Master Yicheng, vice president of the Chinese Buddhist Association and abbot of Yunshan Zhennian Buddha (now president of the Chinese Buddhist Association), proposed to restore Baofeng Temple. Thanks to the efforts of all parties, Baofeng Temple has regained its former majestic posture, covering an area of more than 10,000 square meters.
