Sima Qian's Historical Records has high historical value. Because Historical Records was not invented by Sima Qian out of thin air, but was edited by Sima Qian from previous historical materials, which is the greatest feature of China's historiography. So the credibility is very high.

Western history, like novels, is made up by the author himself, so the credibility is very small. Western history books can only be placed in China together with Romance of the Three Kingdoms and History of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. Sima Qian's historical records can correspond to unearthed cultural relics one by one, but all historical books in ancient western countries can't reach such accuracy.

Don't know the literary value. I don't know Greek, and I can't understand the literary value of Herodotus and history.
