1987 obtained a master's degree in history from Southwest Normal University and a doctor's degree in history from Nankai University in 2004. 1995 was promoted to associate professor and was hired as a professor in June 2000.

He is currently a professor at the School of History and Culture of Southwest University, director of the Institute of Classical Civilization, the first academic and technical leader in Chongqing, editor-in-chief of Classical Studies Review, doctoral supervisor, and vice president of the China World Ancient History Research Association. The main research directions are western classical civilization and western historical philosophy. Executive director of Chongqing Historical Society, director of the Institute of West Asian Studies of Southwest University, director of the master's degree program of world history in Southwest University and master's tutor, leader of the key discipline "World History" in Chongqing, the first academic and technical leader in Chongqing, and an expert in the exchange and evaluation of social science projects between the National Social Science Fund and the Ministry of Education. Since teaching, he has taught more than 0 courses 10 for doctoral students, master students and undergraduates, including world ancient history, world medieval history, history of western historiography, history of ancient Greek and Roman civilization, Marxism and modern social thoughts.
