Throughout February, only Tengshi and Ford pushed OTA upgrades, among which Tengshi updated the most, mainly in the intelligent cockpit, mainly including in-vehicle UI interaction, screen control function, voice control and so on. And Ford only pushed a few remote control functions. Tengshi is a joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz. Tengshi D9 went on the market soon, which is very rare from the past of BYD models and Mercedes-Benz models. It can be seen that Tengshi does have high operational autonomy. Unfortunately, no luxury brands pushed OTA upgrade in February. At present, the electrification process of luxury brands is still lagging behind, such as Porsche, Polestar and Audi. There was not even an OTA upgrade in 2023.
Compared with the traditional car recall, OTA is gradually becoming an important way to improve the safety of cars, especially new energy vehicles. In 2022, a total of 17 OTA recalls were implemented, involving 887,000 vehicles, accounting for 73.2% of the total number of new energy vehicle recalls in the whole year.
