Xiangxi: Hunan is called Xiang for short, so its western region is called Xiangxi for short (this natural zone is different from administrative divisions), and it is also called Xiangxi area, Xiangxi belt and Great Xiangxi. It is the floorboard of the whole western Hunan, including Zhangjiajie, Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture, Huaihua and western Shaoyang (Chengbu County, etc. ), different from eastern Hunan, central Hunan, northern Hunan and southern Hunan.

It is a vast area surrounded by Wuling Mountain Range, Xuefeng Mountain Range and Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, where the middle and upper reaches of Yuanshui River and Lishui River and their tributaries meet.

It is a major underdeveloped area, ethnic minority area and ecologically fragile area in Hunan Province. It is also a hub area connecting the Yangtze River and South China Economic Zone, with outstanding regional characteristics and important strategic position.

Historically, Xiangxi belt belonged to Chen Yuan Yongjingbing North Road, Chen Yuan Road, Xiangxi appeasement office and Xiangxi Administrative Region.

The mystery of Xiangxi stems from the fact that it is a multi-ethnic settlement, in which the proportion of Miao, Dong and Tujia is very high. The local folk customs belong to witch culture, so it gives people a mysterious color, such as the famous "three evils" of Xiangxi-driving away corpses, releasing demons and falling flowers.

These folk customs have their historical background and cultural significance, and we should respect local customs and habits without endangering society.
