Developed more than 7,000 years ago, it was the land of Chu in the Spring and Autumn Period. It was famous in history because of the Wu Chu War, and it was called the White Pony.
Qin belongs to Nanjun and Han belongs to Xiling.
The post-Zhao general Schleswig-Holstein defended the city in Machu and named it Macheng.
In the eighteenth year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty (AD 598), a county was established, officially named Macheng, which belongs to Huangzhou County and has been attacked repeatedly since the Tang and Song Dynasties.
1986: the county was withdrawn to set up a city, which was managed by Huanggang city, but the financial and administrative examination and approval were independent.
From 65438 to 0995, the State Council promulgated the chinese administrative division Reform, and in Huanggang, Macheng City and Wuxue City were defined as cities directly under the provincial government.
