Cangzhou City belongs to Hebei Province. Cangzhou is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Hebei Province, which is located in the Heilonggang River basin in the southeast of Hebei Province and the east of Hebei Plain, between 37 29' and 38 57' north latitude and between115 42' and17 50' east longitude. It borders Bohai Sea in the east, Tianjin and Langfang in the north, Baoding and Hengshui in the west and southwest, and Zhang Weixin across the river in the south. Cangzhou is named after its proximity to Bohai Sea. Its urban area is 20km away from Tianjin 120km, 240km away from Beijing and 220km away from Shijiazhuang, the capital of southwest China. It is the south gate of Beijing and Tianjin. The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal runs through the whole territory. Beijing-shanghai railway, Beijing-Kowloon Railway, Huang Shuo Railway, Han Huang Railway and Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway run through the jurisdiction. Cangzhou Topography Cangzhou City is located in the east of Jizhong Plain, with low terrain and little fluctuation, with the highest elevation of17m and the lowest elevation of 2m. The terrain inclines from southwest to northeast, the west is a part of the edge of the alluvial fan in front of Taihang Mountain, the middle is a vast plain formed by the alluvial of Yellow River, Zhanghe River, Hutuo River and Tanghe River, and the east is a coastal marine lake plain formed by tidal accumulation in Bohai Sea. Cangzhou is located in the Haihe River Basin, with many rivers in the territory, and is known as the "Low Nine Rivers". There are three river systems flowing into Cangzhou in the upper reaches, which run through the southeast and northwest and crisscross. More than 20 rivers flow into the sea in 9 places, and many wetlands and huge reed seas maintain a good ecological environment, which is the migration stop of more than 200 kinds of migratory birds.
