At that time, Cai Zhou (now Runan County, Henan Province) made our envoy Qin Zongquan crusade against Huang Chao, and Wang Xu served as the secretariat of Gwangju, responsible for organizing expenses. Wang Xu failed to finish it on schedule. Qin Zongquan attacked Gwangju. Wang Xu was afraid of fleeing south, so he appointed Liu Hangquan as the striker and Wang Chao as the deputy striker. He led 5,000 troops out of Xunyang County (now Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province), to Nankang County (now Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province), crossed Zhangshui, took Tingzhou (now Changting County), and entered the customs in August of the first year of Yu Guangqi (885). Wang Xu worried that the army was cumbersome and ordered the whole army: "All the old people and children with the army will be beheaded!" Wang Chao's mother Xu is no exception. Wang Chao argued with him, and the soldiers also pleaded for Wang Chao. Wang Xucai saved Wang Chao's mother.
Wang Xu, who was born as a butcher, felt inferior, narrow-minded and suspicious. As long as his subordinates were brave enough to surpass themselves or were burly and heroic, they were all killed by him, which made everyone in the army feel insecure. Wang Chao's three brothers are very tall and talented. Seeing that Wang Xu is so heartless, they always have butterflies in their stomach. One day, when the troops marched to Nan 'an County, Wang Chao secretly persuaded Liu Hangquan. They made a plan and selected dozens of confidant soldiers to hide in the dense bamboo forest. When Wang Xu rode by, he suddenly jumped out of the bamboo forest and captured Wang Xu alive. The whole army cheered. Wang Chao was elected as the main general by everyone.
Wang Chao worshiped an army and decided to March into Chengdu and Wang Qin. Just when Zhang, a native of Quanzhou, led the squire into the mansion, he knelt on the road with niujiu and asked Wang Chao to expel Liao Yanruo, a greedy and cruel Quanzhou secretariat. Wang Chao immediately laid siege to Quanzhou, and Liao Yanre stubbornly resisted, and the two sides remained at loggerheads for more than a year. In August of the second year of Guangqi (886), Wang Chao breached the city, killed Liao Yanre and occupied Quanzhou. Chen Yan, a native of Jianning, was appointed as an observer in Fujian, and Wang Chao was invited as the secretariat of Quanzhou.
Wang Chao made great efforts in Quanzhou to gather refugees, encourage production, set up sub-cities under the rectification of subordinates, reduce corvees, relax taxes and set up voluntary schools, which was very popular.
In the second year of Dashun (89 1), Chen Yan fell ill and sent messengers to invite Wang Chao to Fuzhou to take over the military and political affairs. Before the emissary arrived in Quanzhou, Chen Yan had died. Chen Yan's wife, brother-in-law (Qing Qianlong's Quanzhou Prefecture Records as her husband) and the Guards all took Fan Li in charge of the military power, claiming to stay behind and queuing up to resist Wang Chao's takeover of Fuzhou. Wang Chao appointed his cousin Wang Yanfu as the viceroy and his third brother Wang as the viceroy, and sent troops to attack Fuzhou. Fan Hui defended the city and could not attack for a long time. In the first year of Jingfu (892), the temperature was adjusted, and Taiwan and Wusanzhou each sent 5,000 troops to Fan Li. Wang Yanfu and Wang attacked before and after and flew to Wang Chao to ask for a time-out, but Wang Chao refused. Wang Yanfu and Wang invited Wang Chao to take command personally. Wang Chao wrote back and said, "I will do my best to increase troops, and I will do my best to increase troops. I should come by myself. " As a result, Wang Yanfu and Wang once again took the lead, took risks and launched a fierce offensive. In May of that year, the food in the city was exhausted and the morale of the army was scattered. When Fan Kuai saw that the tide had ebbed, he fled in a hurry and was killed by soldiers on the way. When he saw that Fuzhou had fallen, he also retreated to Li.
Wang Chao moved to Fuzhou, claiming to stay and bury Chen Yan, and the story spread like wildfire. Zhong Quanmu, the secretariat of Tingzhou, and Xu Guifan, the secretariat of Jianzhou, went to Fuzhou with the grain books of the household department. Please return to Wang Chao for restraint. There are more than 20 local armed forces in Shandao, and Wang Chao has five states in Fujian, dominating one side. /kloc-in October, Zhao Zong appointed Wang Chao as an observer in Fujian.
In the third year of Gan Ning (896), in September, Wang Chao was promoted to Wei Wujun in Fuzhou, where he was appointed as an official to inspect the school. Wang Chao is shrewd and farsighted in managing politics, making good friends with foreign countries, carefully determining domestic taxes and encouraging production. Strictly enforce the law without favoritism. After his illness, although he had four sons, Wang Yanxing, Wang Yanxiu and Wang Yanxiu, none of them made themselves heirs and entrusted the military and political power to Wang Shenzhi.
In the third year of Ganning (896), Wang Chao was promoted to our position in the mighty army, and he was seriously ill in the same year. Although Wang Chao has four sons and his second brother, Wang Shenluan, is still alive, he chose his third brother, Wang, as his heir and Wang as his king, thus creating Fujian. His second brother, Wang Shenluan, was appointed as the secretariat of Quanzhou with remarkable achievements. Tired of sealing off workers, soldiers and households, ministers awarded the mighty army a holiday deputy, which was the first time in the Jin Dynasty.
In December, 1987, Wang Chao died at the age of 52. Posthumous title Qin Gong and posthumous title Guangwu were buried in Panlong Mountain (now Hui 'an County) in the northern suburb of Jinjiang County. The grave is still there. The temple statue originally built in Chongyang Building, South Gate of Quanzhou has been abandoned.
The Wang Chao brothers went south from the Central Plains and brought a large population, so they are still regarded as ancestors by many Wang Xing families in Fujian and Taiwan.
