The Historical Evolution of Daxu Town
Daxu Commune was established in 1958 and Taishan Commune was established in 1960. 1983 was changed to daxu township and Taishan township respectively. 1996 daxu withdrew from the township to build a town. 1996, with an area of 67 square kilometers and a population of 33,000, Xuzhen governs Dawei, Liu Lu, Jingji, Xutai, Magou, Tuanbu, Houwang, Huanglou, Liwa, Zhumiao, Yaozhuang, Zhangwa, Dongtan, Xitan, He Lin, Zhu Zhuang, Shaolou, Yuehai and Xiaomiao. Taishan Township covers an area of 70 square kilometers with a population of 38,000, and governs 18 administrative villages, namely Taishan, Mazhuang, Jiusan, Hexi, Qingshan, Banqiao, Liu Shan, Shaoqiao, Hengshan, Liyuan, Chengjian, Fu Miao, Shazhuang, Zheng Miao, Fang Ting, Dawu, Xiaodun and Daliu. In April 2000, Taishan Town was revoked and merged into xu zhen. The whole town covers an area of 1, 29 1 km2 and a population of 72,200. It governs 37 administrative villages, and the town government is located in Daxu Village. Moved to Houwang Village in April 2007, where there are 23 villagers' committees, 96 natural villages and 144 villagers' groups.
