Lions and cats in Linqing, China have been kept for 200 to 300 years. Tracing back to the origin of Linqing civet in Shandong, China, it is the offspring of Persian cat (now known as traditional angola cat) and Luxi civet. As early as Jiajing to Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, Linqing, located at the intersection of the Grand Canal and Zhang Wei, gradually formed the largest handicraft and commercial city in western Shandong, and a large number of European businessmen and missionaries came one after another.
