1980, the Ministry of Construction officially issued the topic "Development and application technology popularization of building structural adhesives", which was jointly tackled by Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Liaoning Academy of Building Sciences.
After the completion of the 1983 project, the first practical structural adhesive for buildings in China, JGN, was developed, which initiated the chemical reinforcement in China and filled the blank of steel-bonded reinforcement in domestic buildings.
China Engineering and Building Standardization Association Standard 1990: Technical Specification for Reinforcement of Concrete Structures (CECS25:90) formally incorporated the steel-bonded reinforcement technology into the specification, and listed JGN series building structural adhesives as designated products. 1996: China academy of sciences has successively developed structural adhesives for dynamic load components, building structural adhesives for wet environment, building structural adhesives for concrete surface repair, building structural adhesives for high temperature, pouring structural adhesives, etc.
1997: application investigation and a large number of practices show that chemical bonding steel reinforcement method has become the dominant trend in the field of reinforcement technology, and the technology is becoming more and more mature, with the advantages of simple construction, reliable technology, low cost of manpower, material resources and time, and space saving, which is increasingly recognized by the majority of structural designers.
In 2000, structural adhesive rapidly developed into new and old building reinforcement projects, such as concrete planting bar anchorage, steel bar chemical bonding, chemical anchor bolt reinforcement, carbon fiber cloth (board) bonding, material wear resistance, joint filling, anticorrosion and waterproofing, and became an indispensable and important building reinforcement material in the future construction industry.
2006: The implementation of GB50367-2006, the national standard for concrete structure reinforcement, will definitely play a positive role in promoting China's socialist modernization.
