2. To talk about the four classic novels, we should start with the origin of martial arts novels. Since the first Elvis Presley, there have been hundreds of years of excellent martial arts novels. If it is really difficult to choose four of them, I will choose my personal favorite four.
The Legend of Swordsman in Shushan: The Greatest fantasy novel. The first place is definitely the famous legend of the swordsman in Shushan, which I believe no one can doubt. The author of The Legend of the Swordsman of Shushan belongs to Zhu Louzhu. This book is the first fantastic book in the world during the Republic of China, and it is the favorite novel of Ni Kuang and Jin Yong. It is a magnificent 7 million-word novel, which depicts the magnificent world of the Oriental Xianxia and constructs an unparalleled oriental fantasy system. All kinds of oriental fantasy works from the 1930s to the present are inseparable from the big framework of Shu Mountain. They have been made into movies by Tsui Hark for many times and into various TV dramas by many TV stations, which shows their far-reaching influence.
The greatest film adaptation novel. The Legend of the Sword and the Chivalrous Man was written in Pingjiang in the 1920s, and it was one of the best-selling martial arts novels of that year. Legends of strange people in rivers and lakes are more grounded and humanized than the Buddha of Shushan, especially in describing fencing and extraordinary feats. Of course, Zhang Shichuan 1929' s adaptation of the film Burning Red Lotus Temple is more famous than the novel. It can be called the pioneer of martial arts films in the Republic of China, which has influenced the development process of martial arts films for decades.
Seven Killing Monuments: The Masterpiece of the Old School Martial Arts. The author of Seven Killing Monuments is Zhu Zhenmu, one of the five schools in the north of the Republic of China. Seven Killing Monuments was written in1940s, which gathered the strength of all writers and created another situation of martial arts fantasy. Seven Killing Monuments is not only beautifully written, but also exquisitely written. What I admire most is Zhu Zhenmu's good combination of history and chivalrous stories, which deeply influenced Jin Yong later, and his description of strange feelings directly influenced Gu Long. Zhu Zhenmu's position in Wushu is beyond doubt. It can be said that without Zhu Zhenmu, there would be no Jin Yong and Gu Long.
The peak of Jin Yong's literary creation. The Duke Of Mount Deer is Jin Yong's masterpiece, and when Jin Yong wrote The Duke Of Mount Deer, he had completely jumped out of the category of martial arts, virtually showing his master temperament. Duke Lushan is more like an encyclopedia of China's feudal history, a masterpiece of larded science. Duke of Lushan not only shows various forms of feudal officialdom, but also shows local customs and advanced concepts of national unity. Among them, characterization is more appropriate, and it is very thought-provoking to show the strangeness of ancient China society a few years ago through Wei Xiaobao.
This is just my personal opinion on four classic novels and a martial arts master. After all, everyone has his own taste. If there are differences, welcome to communicate.
