Tianmu Mountain, with a long history, is a famous mountain of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism and a famous historical and cultural mountain.
Xiao Tong, Prince Zhaoming of Nanliang, used to knit sweaters here during Wenxuan years. Zhang Daoling, a Taoist priest of the Western Han Dynasty, was born here and believed in Buddhism. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Tianmu Mountain was called 34 caves.
The rise of Buddhism in Tianmu Mountain began in the period of Dongshengping (357~36 1), and its founder was Zhufa Mine.
Later, many monks came to the mountains to practice. At the beginning of the Tang Dynasty, Zen master Hongyan succeeded to the throne in the west, and became a monk at the beginning of 100 people and then entered a thousand. In the 16th year of Yuan Dynasty (1279), Zen master Gao Feng settled in Lion Mountain in West Tianmu Mountain and built a house here. Later, he and his disciples broke the cliff for justice, and Zhongfeng Mingben successively built the authentic Big Lion Temple and Dajue Zhengmiao Temple.
Since then, the reputation of West Tianmu Mountain has gradually increased, and there have been frequent exchanges at home and abroad. Many eminent monks from Japan, India, Korea and other countries came to participate in meditation and study abroad. Buddhists in Yulin in Qing Dynasty met the special fate of Shunzhi and Kangxi Dynasties, and founded a Buddhist temple in the fourth year of Kangxi (1665). Great Zhenfeng and Zhongfeng are seated, and the West Tianmu Mountain has changed greatly, and the incense is extremely prosperous. There are many books in the temple. In the early years of the Republic of China, Buddhism in West Tianmu Mountain declined. In the mid-1930s, hundreds of monks took part in a revival movement.
1941April 15, the Zen Temple was completely destroyed by Japanese aggressor planes. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), the incense of West Tianmu Mountain gradually declined. In the early 1960s, there were 2 1 monks living on this mountain. 1965, 16 monks moved to Linglong Mountain in Lin 'an County.
During the Tang and Song Dynasties, monks in Tianmu Mountain lived in many places. Most of them take stone as their houses, build their own homes, drink stream wood and practice hard.
The earliest temple with a slightly larger scale was Fu Bao Courtyard built in the second year of Tang Guangqi (886), followed by Kongming Courtyard built in the first year of Tang Wende (888).
After the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Lion Authentic Temple, Dajuezheng Temple, Zen Temple and 45 An Hall were built successively. Over the past 1000 years, due to frequent military activities and wind and rain erosion, temples have experienced ups and downs. Today, there are still some surviving buildings, such as the Temple Gate of Zen Temple, Tianwang Temple, Wei Tuo Temple, Authentic Lion Temple (now called Kaishan Old Temple) and Taizi'an Scenic Resort Scenic Area.
Monks in Ximushan
There are many famous monks in Tianmu Mountain, and they have been repeatedly sealed by the emperor.
In the Tang Dynasty, Zen master Zhonghui gave lectures to Su Zong on the importance of managing people and governing the country, which spread the wind of Yu Shun in Tang Yao. After the silence, he was awarded the title of Dazheng Zen Master. Fifty years after the death of Zen Master Jianzong, Qian Liu, King of Wusu, wuyue, invited him to the court and made him the Supreme Master. Hongxitu Zen master, Xianzong gave purple clothes, and General Zhao gave them to the master.
In the Song Dynasty, there was no way to open a Zen master. Li Zongci was a famous Buddhist eye Zen master. Tanyin Zen master Gary wrote the word abbot. In the Yuan Dynasty, the peak Zen master Shu Sha opened the door. He is the owner of West Tianmu Mountain. His disciples broke through the cliff, and the peak of the Mid-Levels was magnificent, and his family background grew. Chengzong, Shun Di and Injong were all praised.
In the fourth year of Ming Dynasty (137 1), Zen master Song Yin rebuilt the temple on the original site of Zhenzong Lion Temple, which became a jungle. In the Qing Dynasty, Zen master Yulin was given the name Dajue Zen master by the emperor shunzhi, and he was named Xiangcassock. Later, he became a Buddhist master, Puji Nengren, abbot of Buddhist temples, Dazhengfeng, Zhongfeng Faxi, and Zen in Hui Chong society. Master Huishi lived in West Tianmu Mountain for 27 years, and the manager restored the temple and changed its appearance. Zen Temple, the chairman of the international Zen master, abides by the wind of clan, does not dare to degenerate, and reads the number of CO.
