Xihe Zhang may be the most important water resort in Ningbo, Zhejiang. This river originates from Dajiaoxi, flows through Zhangshui Town, Longguan Town and Yinjiang Town from northwest to southeast, and splits in two at its weir. The essence of Xihe Zhang starts from Miyan Village in the lower reaches of Dajiao River and ends in Zhangxi Village, along which there are Xuyan Village, Zhumei Village, Cuiao Village, Changtan Village and Tianxiangyan.

Zhangxi was once the most beautiful river in Ningbo. A few years ago, I went to visit Zhong Village in Yuyao and passed by Xihe Zhang. I was deeply impressed by the beautiful scenery along the way. A few years later, in the summer of 20021,the typhoon "fireworks" harassed Ningbo, and the Zhangxi River flooded and the water conservancy facilities along the river were damaged. The relevant departments restored Xihe Zhang.

We don't know the concept of repair. When we saw Xihe Zhang again, the beaches along the way had disappeared. There are many stone dams and hiking trails on both sides of the river, and a bicycle lane has been built along the river. Many fish scale dams or seven-step bridges have been built on the river.

Officials call these dam bridges weirs. There are five weirs, namely 1, No.2 and No.5. They are located in Miyan Village East, Xuyan Village North, Cuiao Village, Changtan Village North and Jiazheng Village South respectively. Among them, the fish scale dam at the east end of Miyan Village is the largest, and it once became a new punching place for network celebrity Ningbo, and people who came to take photos and play were in an endless stream.

It has been two years since the fish scale dam was built in Xihe Zhang. Is Xihe Zhang more beautiful and popular than before? Has it become a mature water resort? With these questions, I came here again.

I started swimming in Jinxi Village, Longguan Township, which was regarded as going upstream and swimming all the way to Miyan Village. When I arrived in Xihe Zhang, it was already past six in the morning. The early morning sun shines down from the east and rubs against Xihe Zhang, making the scenery on both sides of the river particularly vibrant.

Villagers usually get up early and squat down on the dock by the river to wash their clothes, which makes Xihe Zhang look particularly pyrotechnic and idyllic.

The downstream of Xihe Zhang looks normal. Although there are not many rivers, at least they are all over the river. The clear river reflects the blue sky and white clouds and the scenery on both sides of the strait, which is particularly transparent. However, the further upstream, there are fewer and fewer rivers. Some rivers basically have no water, and only a small ditch is formed at the lowest point.

There is hardly a drop of water in the most famous fish scale dam in front of Miyan Village. The seven-step bridge, which was originally crowded with tourists, was completely deserted, and no one could see it. There is only a shallow layer of water in the river downstream of the fish scale dam.

In the middle of the river, excavators and construction workers are still busy. There are many bricks and building materials in the river, and there is only a shallow stream left in the river. It feels like the once beautiful Xihe Zhang suddenly disappeared and became a dry river bed.

Of course, this river is not without bright spots. Several fish scale dams in the middle and lower reaches of the river still maintain a certain amount of water, and the stream flows between the stone piers of Qibu Bridge, which still looks beautiful. However, it is basically impossible to play with water and go upstream here.

I don't know whether the reconstruction project in Xihe Zhang will continue to dredge the river or create a landscape along the river. In my opinion, there is no conflict between building riverside landscape and enhancing flood control capacity. Relevant departments can refer to the 13th Xi Du River in Danzhu, and build Xihe Zhang into a beautiful river that can not only prevent floods, but also play with water, so that citizens can enjoy a cool summer.

Friends who like to play with water, if you want to play with water in Xihe Zhang, you can drive in from the intersection south of Xiang Yan Village and go all the way west. There are several pits in the middle and lower reaches of this river. The stream is still relatively clear and the scenery is not bad. You can have some fun.
