How long did the Battle of Stalingrad last?
The Battle of Stalingrad was a battle fought by Nazi Germany for Stalingrad, a city in the south of the Soviet Union, during the Second World War, which lasted from June 28th, 65438 to February 2nd, 943. The Battle of Stalingrad was a turning point in the Eastern Front of World War II. Judging from the number of casualties, this is also the bloodiest battle in modern history. It is estimated that the number of casualties on both sides is about 2 million, and the number of people participating in this battle exceeds other battles in history.

The Battle of Stalingrad was the most serious defeat within the strategic scope of fascist Germany, which not only ended the offensive posture maintained by the army group in southern Germany since 194 1, but also directly caused a fundamental change in the overall strength comparison between the Soviet Union and Germany. From a global perspective, the Battle of Stalingrad, together with the simultaneous Battle of Guadalcanal and the Battle of El Alamein, constituted a landmark event of the great turning point in the anti-fascist war at the end of 1942.

In addition, Stalingrad has strategic and spiritual significance. If Stalingrad falls, it will certainly deal a serious blow to the Red Army, the Red Sea Army and the Soviet people. The Germans can attack the Caucasus oil region, support the Italian army and seize the key areas of the Soviet Union: grain and industrial production bases.
