Puning Overseas Chinese Management Zone, 1995. In August, according to the spirit of the provincial government documents, Puning Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government approved the upgrading of Puning Overseas Chinese Farm to a county-level unit. Qiaopu is a gathering place of overseas Chinese culture, with returned overseas Chinese and their relatives from 13 countries and regions. Chaoshan has a profound cultural background, exotic folk customs, and the vast number of overseas Chinese can sing and dance, blending with each other, forming a unique overseas Chinese hometown culture. The main local operas are Chaozhou Opera and Hakka folk songs. Dances include Indonesian dance, tea party and bamboo shadow dance.
