Ningling County is located in the east of Henan Province, bordering Shangqiu in the east, Sui County in the west, Zhecheng County in the south and the Yellow River in the north. It was called Yining in the Spring and Autumn Period and Xinling in the Warring States Period, in Ningling City of the Qin Dynasty. In 122 BC, Ningling County was established in the first year of founding ceremony, Emperor of the Western Han Dynasty. The old dike of the Yellow River in this county crosses the northeast, and the terrain is slightly higher. The south of Longhai Railway is flat and 50 meters above sea level. There are sand dunes on both sides of Dasha River and Zhaohe River. The annual average temperature is 14.2℃, the annual average precipitation is 647mm and the frost-free period is 2 16 days.

Ningling is a typical agricultural county with mild climate, flat terrain and fertile soil. It has been designated as a national commodity grain base county, a national high-quality cotton breeding base, a top 100 oil-bearing counties in China, the largest ash strip (stem) production base in China, the only high-quality crisp pear base in China, a goat skin base county in China, the second batch of pollution-free agricultural products (vegetables) production demonstration base counties in China, the top 10 pollution-free fruit and vegetable counties in China, and a forestry ecological county in the whole province. It is a famous hometown of crisp pears and cucumbers in greenhouses in Henan Province. Jinding Xie Hua crisp pear, white wax stick (pole) and Zhanggong wine were designated as geographical indication protection products by AQSIQ. "Ningling Gangzi Steamed Bun" is the imperial food of Ming and Qing Dynasties. "Ningling colorful mutton" is a famous national flavor; "Zhanggong Liquor" originated in the early Shang Dynasty and flourished in the Han Dynasty. Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty sealed royal wine. "Jinding Xie Hua Crispy Pear" has been cultivated for more than 700 years. It was sealed as a tribute in Hongzhi period of Ming Dynasty and presented to President Mao Zedong in 1958. The area of crisp pears is stable at 200,000 mu. In 2009, relying on the ten thousand mu ecological pear garden, the sixth pear festival and the third crisp pear picking festival were successfully held. 20 10 On April 6th, the opening ceremony of the first Getianhua Art Festival and the seventh Pear Flower Festival was successfully held.
