Brief introduction of Slender West Lake
Slender West Lake, formerly known as Hu Bao, is located in the northwest suburb of Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, with a total area of 2,000 mu, a water area of 700 mu and a tourist area of 100 hectare. 1 The name of "Slender West Lake" was first recorded in "Preface to Yangzhou Advocacy" by Wuqi in the early Qing Dynasty: "There is a river in the north of the city, and it is called Slender West Lake, and its real name is Hu Bao." In the first year of Qianlong (1736), Wang Ling, a poet from Qiantang (Hangzhou), came to Yangzhou. After enjoying the beautiful scenery here, he made a comparison with the West Lake in his hometown, and wrote a poem: "The weeping willows continue to pick up weeds, and the wild tooth Hongqiao scrolls. It is also a pot selling gold, so it should be called Slender West Lake. " 1 Slender West Lake has formed a basic pattern in the Kanggan period of the Qing Dynasty, and it has the reputation of "the best in the garden".
