How old is Yancheng?
Yancheng is adjacent to the Yellow Sea in the east, with an area of10.5 million square kilometers and a population of 810.5 million. It has a long history of more than 2 100 years, beautiful ecological environment, rich cultural heritage and convenient transportation, and is known as "Oriental Wetland and Water Green Yancheng".

Yancheng has a long history and a rich collection of humanities.

Since the county was founded in the fourth year of Yuan Shou in Han Dynasty (1 19 BC), it has a history of more than 2 100 years, leaving many places of interest for the ancient salt-rich land.

Yancheng is the hometown of famous calligraphers Shi Naian, Steven Song, Lu Xiang, Xiu Fu and Song Cao in Ming Dynasty. It is a famous hometown of acrobatics, Huai Opera and fireworks in China, with rich cultural background.

Yancheng is also one of the important revolutionary old areas in China. There was a saying that "Yan 'an in the west and Yancheng in the east", and it has the largest, most comprehensive and most representative memorial facilities for the New Fourth Army in China.

The coastal tidal flat area is 6.83 million mu, accounting for 75% of the total tidal flat area in Jiangsu Province, and the national 1/7.

There are two national nature reserves, Red-crowned Crane and Elk, the Chinese sturgeon nature reserve under construction, and Dongsha, the largest offshore sandbar in China.

Here, the sea and the sky meet, the vegetation is lush, and cranes dance in Luming Literature, which is a primitive ecological scenery. It is the habitat and growth place of nearly 100 kinds of national first-and second-class protected animals and nearly 1,000 kinds of animals and plants. 60% and 25% of the world's wild red-crowned cranes and elk live here and are listed as the world's key wetland reserves.

The western part of Yancheng is located in the hinterland of He Lixia, and the waters of Dazong Lake, Jiulongkou Lake and Majiadang Lake cover an area of nearly 100 square kilometers.

Here is rich in products, picturesque, simple folk customs, long and colorful folk culture, and well-preserved original ecological environment, and is known as "Jintan Yindang" and "Land of Fish and Rice".
