In 953, in the 11th year of Baoda in Southern Tang Dynasty, Ruijin Prison was changed to Ruijin County.

On July 23, 2007, the Civil Affairs Department of Jiangxi Province issued the Reply on Agreeing to Place Baizhu Village in Baying Township of Ruijin City under the Jurisdiction of Wuyang Town (Gan Min Zi [2007] 152): With the approval of the provincial people's government, it was agreed to place Baizhu Village in Baying Township of Ruijin City under the Jurisdiction of Wuyang Town and merge it into Sutian Village of Wuyang Town.
