In 1986, he went to Vancouver, Canada to participate in the World Expo as music director with the Oriental Song and Dance Ensemble.

In 1987, the electronic music work "Made by Heaven" premiered at the Beijing Workers' Stadium. The 1990 electronic music album "Made by Heaven" was released by EMI Records.

In September 1990, the solo concert "Zhang Dawei Electronic Concert" was held at the Beijing Exhibition Hall Theater and achieved great success.

In 1991, he was invited by Professor Gong Zhenxiong of Peking University to demonstrate electronic music at Peking University's "Mr. Li Zhengdao's Physics Seminar".
