The Royal Albert Hall can accommodate approximately 50,000 people.
The Royal Albert Hall has been in operation since 1871 and is the oldest concert hall in London. Its appearance imitates the red brick building of the Roman Colosseum, making it unique among many buildings. The Albert Hall was originally planned to be built as the Hall of Arts and Sciences, but after its completion, Queen Victoria renamed it the Albert Hall in memory of her late husband Albert.
The Albert Memorial Tower opposite was also completed in 1876. The events held here are all-encompassing, but the most famous are the "Proms" concerts held in the summer. In addition to classical music performances, there are also some rock and pop concerts. The tour requires reservations and is led by a dedicated person. It lasts about 1 hour, but does not include the backstage and other places.
