Wuhan Conservatory of Music is located in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It is one of the nine independently established music conservatories in China. It is also the only independently established higher music institution in central China. It is a master's degree-granting unit and one of the first batch of art conservatories in the country. It is a pilot unit for master's degree education and a social and artistic level examination institution.

As of June 2022, the college has the Department of Composition, Department of Musicology, Department of Chinese Music, Department of Piano, Department of Orchestral Music, Department of Vocal Music, Department of Dance, School of Music Education, School of Performing Arts, Graduate School, Marx There are 9 general undergraduate majors in teaching units such as the School of Socialism, the Basic Course Department of the Public Security Bureau, the School of Continuing Education (including adult undergraduate education), the Affiliated Middle School, and the Affiliated Primary School.
