Chet Lam (Chet Lam, born on April 11, 1976) is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Hong Kong. He has never received formal music training and relied on self-study to learn how to play guitar, compose music, and write lyrics. He has been a student since he was a student. He often participated in music-related performances and hosted music programs such as "Everything Starts with Music", "The Voice" and "One Person, One Guitar" on Hong Kong Commercial Radio 2 in 1993, 1998 and 2003 respectively. He is also the brother of Lin Erwen, a member of the Hong Kong singing and composing group at17, and the two often perform together.
Chet Lam (Chet Lam) and his sister Lin Erwen come from a housing estate family. When he was young, his goal was to become a writer, but his voice had already emerged as a student. Some said that in his early years, his singing voice was similar to that of Taiwanese singer Zhang Xinzhe. Won several school singing competition awards. Many years later, his mother pointed out that when Lin Yifeng was 3 years old, he sang the popular song "Whenever Things Change" on the bus as if no one else was watching.
In 1994, he wrote his first song "Scavenging" ("Scavengers") because he was too bored in the chemistry class of Form 7 (this work has not been published and has never been performed in public). In 1995, he heard Janis Ian's "Light a light" and decided to make music (the first version Lin Yifeng heard was Qi Yu's version).
In 1996, he entered the City University of Hong Kong, majoring in Japanese business studies, and began to become associated with the pop music scene. In 1998, he composed the song "Someone Like Me" for Julian Cheung for the first time. The following year, he completed "Sleeping Princess" for Priscilla Chan. At that time, he also won many awards in university singing competitions.
In 2000, after graduating one year later than ordinary college students, he devoted himself full-time to music-related work. At one time, he formed a 3P with Young Master Zhan and Xili Mei and released the album "Love Music".
In 2002, he released his famous song "The Best is yet to Come" on the famous online singer website Rolling Stone. In 2003, he launched the musical theater "The Taming of Love" with W Creative Agency and Xili Mei.
In 2003, he established his own L.Y.F.E. studio (Lam Yat Fung Entertainment Company Ltd.). Released the first Cantonese album Bedside Song.
In March 2004, he held the Viva-Indie Concert "1.2.3 to You! Concert" during the Hong Kong Arts Festival with his singer-songwriter friends the pancakes and Ketchup. In October of the same year, he held his first solo concert "Chet Lam Traveling Live".
In 2005, he launched the musical theater "Have You Saved the Earth Today?" with W Creative Agency and Su Yuhua. In the same year, the "Miriam Yeung x Lin Yifeng La Kuo Concert" was held.
In March 2007, L.Y.F.E. Studio held two concerts each for the band Yezi and the group Farmer at the Hong Kong Arts Center. In April of the same year, the musical theater "One Issue, One Meeting" was launched with W Creative Agency and East Asia Entertainment, and was re-staged in July; the cast included Zhao Xueer and Lu Kaitong, a member of the band at17, etc., covering more than ten classic hits by the late singer Chen Baiqiang. The whole play.
In addition to composing a large number of lyrics and music, Lin Yifeng is also active in different media, including performing in stage plays, serving as a radio host, writing columns, etc., and once played the leading role in the gay movie Angel (movie), and also He is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, and his works are often performed in these three languages.
