You will find that keys with the same key signature, such as C major and a minor, G major and e minor, etc., are six places different from each other. Ti in a minor key is always raised half a step. The half-tone will not be marked after the clef but will appear next to the note to be sharpened in the score.

For example: if the key signature is 2 #s, and most of the A in the score has a # hanging to the left, then the music is in the key of B minor.
