Pei County Middle School was founded in 1923. The high school department was established in 1956. In 1980, it was designated as one of the first batch of key middle schools in the province by the Provincial Education Commission. In 1991, high school and junior high school were separated. In 1993, it passed the provincial key middle school acceptance test. In 1996, it became the High School Affiliated to Xuzhou Normal University. Construction of the new school began in 2001.
