When Chinese freehand elements were combined with Western expressionist oil painting styles, he, Wang Xinsheng, created a new painting language;

I will use my artistic works to build a cultural and artistic bridge between China and the United States."
Mr. Wang Xinsheng, who currently lives in Houston, USA, is a contemporary international artist and educator. He is also one of the important representatives of existing contemporary art that integrates Chinese and Western artistic elements. He seamlessly combines Chinese artistic conception with Western oil painting techniques, but does not abstract away from the characteristics of contemporary expressionism and the correspondence with real life events. Critics call him a contemporary image artist with Chinese elements that is different from expressionism and abstraction. He turned the conflicts of cultures of various countries into harmony and created the unique "Wang Xinsheng School of Painting", which is admired by 3,000 professional and amateur painters at home and abroad, and enjoys a high reputation in the international art circle.

Here, basketball star Yao Ming, and Mr. John Hofmeister, Chairman and CEO of Shell Oil Company, etc.
Mr. Wang Xinsheng was born in the ancient city of Xi'an in 1949. His parents were professional painters. He studied with the master of traditional Chinese painting Chen Jingtang at the age of six and obtained the true biography. At the age of thirteen, he held a personal exhibition of traditional Chinese painting. He received systematic oil painting training during college. Since 1993, he has been living in the United States.
During his stay in the United States, he experienced changes in different painting styles in his artistic career, from figurative Russian realism to impressionism, and later formed an expression style of contemporary imagery. Artists often refer to the past 30 years as their own transformation. Without the solid foundation of realism and the exploration of human inner consciousness in Chinese art, there would be no current Imagism. This style should be ideologically closer to the pursuit of the relationship between "Tao" and "Qi". We should look for the structural relationship between concrete objects and abstract language, visual, auditory and other elements. These should be the basis of the image, and what should be more volatile is the emotion. When it comes to emotions and time events, this is the fundamental intention of contemporary Imagism.
Mr. Wang Xinsheng’s works can be divided into two major types. The first type is more specifically event-based works, such as "The Tear Song of the Yellow River - Boatman's Life and Death", "Shock", "Wish", "Like Memory - Series of Animal Heads from the Old Summer Palace" and "Revolution of 1911 - Romance" Works such as "Character Painting" seek more concrete expressions of style and time, as well as the subtle emotions of the characters in the event. The artist said that what is explored in these works is the resonance between characters and the event itself.
“Many abstract works in the West are expressions of self-ideology, self-contained and individual.” The artist said: “My imagery uses the finite to express the infinite, and the intangible to summarize the tangible. It is emotional. Sustenance is a combination of visual language and spiritual value. It is a totem of a background culture and a spiritual yearning. It is not a manifestation of self-ideology, but a high degree of unity of mind and spirit. . When easel art incorporates image elements and imaginative space, any work enters the image space, which also determines its artistic characteristics. These elements are integrated with each other in terms of artistic language. ”
Wang Xinsheng. Mr. Wang is not only a famous artist but also an outstanding educator. Since the establishment of Wang Xinsheng Academy of Fine Arts in 1995, he has led 3,000 disciples to travel across the United States. He has achieved fruitful results and his disciples have made extraordinary achievements. Student Liu Wenjun's work "Future Entrustment (Yorea)" was sold at a Texas rodeo auction for US$100,000, breaking the auction record for decades. Nie Lei's work in dozens of countries, with the participation of more than 3,000 professional painters He won the "World Peace Art Competition" in one fell swoop. In order to commend and thank Wang Xinsheng for cultivating many artistic talents, the mayor personally announced that March 15th would be "Honorary Citizen" and "Goodwill Ambassador" to Mr. Wang Xinsheng. "Wang Xin's Birthday".
Mr. Wang Xinsheng combined the techniques of Western realism, Chinese freehand brushwork, and critical realism of Russian painting with the expression style of modernist painting to form his profound and profound work. The world of art. He combines the essence of Eastern and Western painting to express his love for the world, his thoughts on civilization and his earnest call for human harmony and peace with the unique feelings of overseas Chinese. With continuous sublimation and innovation, each new work comes out to give people a strong shock. Today Art Museum in Beijing will hold a large-scale personal exhibition for him on July 2 this year. At that time, Mr. Wang Xinsheng’s various series of works will be comprehensively displayed. A masterpiece. People are looking forward to seeing Mr. Wang Xinsheng's artistic style and appreciating his masterpieces in Beijing soon. Art is the expression of the eternal consciousness of life, and it can inspire people's thinking in a unique way of painting, whether it is passionate, beautiful or tragic. .
——Wang Xinsheng
The artist’s instinct is to discover the beauty in life and create an artistic world with his own language. When he was a child, he often imitated the vivid movements and expressions of the characters in the drama. The characters are exaggerated but also vivid. In fact, the vivid body language and expressions of the characters can best reflect their status and personality. Recently, paintings often combine the expression concepts of Chinese imagery and vivid character modal language, and strive to express a more unique style. The visual impact of more imagination space.
I have many feelings when facing my works over the years. My art and life experience are like the changes in China over the years. I have experienced the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Great Leap Forward, the years of famine, the Cultural Revolution, reform and opening up, and the trend of going abroad. I have also witnessed the economic boom in recent years. During my years as an educated youth, I was lucky enough to draw many portraits of the president and organize propaganda teams in factories. I have a preference for music. So I also bring music into many of my works. Only art in the world has no boundaries. Music and painting are inherently connected at a high spiritual level.
Whenever I am painting, I always play some music that can help me move the scene. The imagination flows along with the music in the joy of freehand brushwork. When talking about imagery and abstraction, a foreign critic said that these are foreign things, just like imported goods that were imitated by Chinese painters when they entered China and made them look different. In fact, imagery and abstraction are precisely the foothold of Chinese art. It is inevitable to combine the sentiments of Chinese art paintings with the language of Western oil painting art. It is also a product of the internationalization of artists in the current art environment. Chinese painting aesthetics believes that beauty is about constructing an image world where scenes blend together outside the physical world, and "image" is the ontology of beauty and the essence of art. This is the basic starting point of painting itself. Without "image", all painting language would be gone. Romanticism after realism, empathy, expressionism and phenomenological aesthetics all followed this path, although there are important differences between them. But it fundamentally comes from "imagery". From the ancient "Yi Zhuan" to the present era, it has been established. So I feel that by grasping the "image", we can grasp the convergence between Chinese traditional aesthetics and Western modern aesthetics. Some of my own paintings and life. I hope friends in the painting industry can give me some guidance.
