Plot summary of Pacific Rim:
In the near future, the earth's environment will gradually deteriorate. The mysterious alien colonists sent huge, cold, fast, and poisonous monsters to the earth one after another through the wormhole "gap" at the bottom of the ocean, and methodically implemented their colonial destruction plan.
To this end, humans teamed up to create the "Jaeger Project" to create mecha warriors that were comparable in size to the monsters to fight against. However, as the monsters gradually evolved, the mecha warriors were completely defeated. Politicians from various countries tried to build more... The defensive "wall of life" was used to block the invaders, but it soon encountered setbacks.
At this critical juncture, General Steck Pentecost (Idris Elba), who is still secretly promoting the "Jaeger Project", has recovered the secrets that suffered a major disaster five years ago. The pilot of the "Danger Wanderer" (played by Charlie Hunnam) was attacked, and through strict selection, he selected his new partner Asako Mori (played by Rinko Kikuchi).
The resurrected "Wanderer" will soon face the more powerful monster invaders with the other three remaining mecha warriors, while looking for opportunities to completely wipe out the enemy. Reference: Baidu Encyclopedia Pacific Rim
