Huang Qiuyuan was born in Guangdong on January 6th, 197. When I was a teenager, I studied composition and piano under Professor Wang Hua, a famous composer and music educator. In 199, I was interviewed by Professor Wu Zuqiang and admitted to the composition department of the Central Conservatory of Music with the first place. In 1996, I graduated with the first place. Composer from Professor Su Xia, conductor from Professor Wu Lingfen and pianist from Professor Huang Peiying. He was instructed by Professor Joan Kean, Professor William Kraft and Professor Zhou Long.
Huang Qiuyuan grew up in a family full of music atmosphere, and was influenced by diversified music since childhood. Various dialects, operas, folk songs and folk customs full of witchcraft, Taoism, Zen and Yi color in southern China, the traditions of ancient poetry, calligraphy and ink painting, and the special growth environment and experience all make their music present unique personality and profound appeal. Huang Qiuyuan began to learn sketch at the age of six, Chinese painting at the age of nine, calligraphy at the age of eleven, and poetry and seal cutting at the age of thirteen. In the same year, I was determined to become a composer and began to compose music because I heard Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. At the age of sixteen, I was determined to become a stage composer because I read Wagner's biography.
