Extended information:

Gulangyu (English: Kulangsu) was originally named as "Yuanzhouzai", and was named as "Wulongyu" in the Southern Song Dynasty, and renamed as "Gulangyu" in the Ming Dynasty.

There is a rock with a cave in the middle, which is more than two meters high on the beach in the southwest of the island. Whenever the tide surges, the waves hit the rock and sound like drums, people call it "Gulangyu Stone", hence the name Gulangyu Island.

Gulangyu street is short and criss-crossed, and it is the largest island in Xiamen, facing Xiamen Shimao Strait Building and Xiamen University across the sea.

The green coverage rate of Gulangyu Island is over 4%, and the plant population is rich. There are more than 9 families and more than 1, species of trees, shrubs, rattan and ground cover plants.

The representative scenic spots are: Sunlight Rock, Luzhuang Garden, Haoyue Garden, Yuyuan Garden, Gulangyu Stone, Gulangyu Piano Museum, Zheng Chenggong Memorial Hall, Underwater World, Natural Beach, Sea Paradise Structure, etc.

1. Sunlight Rock

Sunlight Rock, also known as Huangyan, is the highest point in Gulangyu Island, with its top 96 meters above sea level. The huge stones on the mountain are craggy and stacked into caves and valleys. The trees are lush and the pavilions are shaded. Climb the stairs, first to the Lotus Temple, "a tile" boulder is embedded in the air, forming a temple.

The boulder beside the nunnery is engraved with "Gulang Cave" and "Lujiang First"; Behind the nunnery are the "Dragon Cave in the Lujiang River" and the "Ancient Summer Cave", with Zheng Chenggong's leading cottage and Shuicaotai site in the middle.

Cai Tingkai and Cai Yuanpei praised Zheng's poems. Climbing to the top, the wonders of mountains and seas, unlimited scenery, Xiamen, Gulangyu, Dadan and Erdan islands have a panoramic view.

2. Haoyue Garden

Haoyue Garden is located at Fudingyan seaside in the east of Gulangyu Island, covering an area of 3, square meters and spread along the bank of Lujiang River. It is a garden with beaches, rocks, green trees and pavilions.

It was founded in 1985, and the garden was named "Haoyue Garden" after the poem "I miss you so much that I can't sleep, and the moon shines through" in the Collection of Two Kings in Yanping. There is a giant bronze statue of Zheng Chenggong and his department in the park, which is 13.7 meters long and 4.7 meters high and consumes 18 tons of copper.

This giant bronze sculpture, with the exception of Zheng Chenggong and his separate ministries, Chen Ze, Chen Guang, Chen Yonghua and Yang Chaodong, is slightly larger than the real one, and all the other military forces and horses extend to both sides, which is quite eye-catching.

More prominent in the park is the giant granite statue of Zheng Chenggong standing on Fuding Rock. This colossus was completed on August 27th, 1985, with a height of 15.7m and a weight of 1,617 tons. It is made of 23 floors and 625 pieces of "Quanzhou White" granite, which is very powerful.

3. Longtou Shanzhai

Sunlight Rock, also known as Longtou Mountain, faces Hutou Mountain in Xiamen across the sea, and a tiger from Yi Long guards Xiamen Port, which is called "Dragon and Tiger Defending the River". The original "Xuting" here has long been destroyed.

Taiwan Province's Shi Guoqiu wrote an article "Xu Ting Ji", which described Sunlight Rock as "the mountains and the sea around it, the first Tianjin in the southeast as far as the eye can see, the water and the light meet the sky, and the Hongbo bathes in the sun, all of which are strange to the Brahma".

The boulders on the footpath stand in the middle of the mountain, and the sea breeze runs through it, which means "cold in nine summers", and the coolness naturally comes from the "Dragon Cave in Lujiang". "Nine summers" is summer, and "Dragon Cave" is where dragons live, because there were five dragons in Gulangyu legend.

This Zhaimen is the Zhaimen of the "leading cottage" where Zheng Chenggong stationed troops on Gulangyu Island. The round hole in the rock was dug by soldiers erecting tents. General Cai Tingcuo, the former commander of the 19th Route Army of the Kuomintang, saw the scenery and was in love.

Seven laws are written in the calligraphy: "If you have a heart, you can only make up for the nature with your hand, and the eight Fujian villages will maintain the present and the past; The ancient base was still there, and the heroes were remembered under the Sunlight Rock. " Praise Zheng Chenggong is unusual.

Mr. Cai Yuanpei also has a seven-melody poem: "Whip the waves in the windy town, and if the conductor is determined, the clouds will be high. Worms, sand, apes and cranes are sometimes exhausted, and righteous bin bin can't be scoured. " "Insect sand ape crane" refers to those who died in the army.
