Introduction to Xiang Yang

Xiang Yang, a native of Yichang City, Hubei Province, studied in the Department of Music of Shandong Normal University (undergraduate), the Department of Music of Xiamen University (master's degree), and the Department of Musicology of the Central Conservatory of Music (doctoral degree). He once taught vocal music and Chinese music history (ancient and modern) courses at the university. In 1991, he worked at the Music Research Institute of the China Academy of Arts and is a member of the Chinese Musicians Association, the Chinese Traditional Music Society, and the Chinese Music History Society. He is the host of the "Local Music" and "Academic Research" columns of the "Chinese Music Yearbook" and served as the deputy director of the Musicology Department of the Graduate School of the China Academy of Arts. Main academic fields: Chinese music history, ethnomusicology, music archeology, and musical cultural anthropology. He has won the Shandong Province "Qilu Le Tan" Award (1989);
