Mulan Quan is famous for its "beauty". It draws on the strengths of various folk schools and integrates strong and powerful martial arts frames, graceful and unrestrained national dance postures, drama, and Qigong fitness principles. It can not only strengthen the body but also cure diseases. , and can be viewed freely. Its rhythm is fast and changeable, and its relaxation is effective. It emphasizes "jing, qi, and spirit" during the drill, focusing on using the spirit to lead the form and the form to convey the spirit. It includes additional routines including bare-handed boxing, single fan, double fan, single sword, double sword, single circle, double circle, double dagger, martial fan, whisk, flower stick and other twelve theme song activities.

In the early 1970s, a unique form of fitness exercise gradually attracted people's attention among the morning exercise teams in Jing'an Park, Shanghai. Accompanied by beautiful Chinese folk music, the female bodybuilders, as light as a swallow and graceful in body, each move is reminiscent of the graceful charm depicted on the Dunhuang murals - this was the beginning of Mulan Quan. At that time, it It is still known as "Magnolia Boxing".

This boxing technique was originally developed and created by Shanghai folk boxer Yang Wendi from some routines of Kongtong School Huajiaquan. At first, she only practiced alone in Shanghai Jing'an Park every early morning. Unexpectedly, over time, it caused This aroused the interest of the morning exercisers around, especially the female morning exercisers, and asked what kind of boxing it was. At that time, Ms. Yang modestly believed that her Huajia Quan was only superficial, and she also added some of her own ideas and made some adaptations. It was not really the authentic Huajia Quan, so she named it after the ancient heroine Hua Mulan. After naming the boxing technique, "Mulanhua Fist" was born. Perhaps it’s because Mulanhua’s boxing routines are “like dancing and martial arts”. They are gentle yet strong, and at the same time there is no danger of injuring the muscles or bones. Therefore, they were quite popular among young and middle-aged women at the time, and people came to “learn from them” in droves. Over time, Ms. Yang accepted many disciples, the most famous of which were undoubtedly the seven disciples who were later called the "Seven Fairies". They were also the earliest direct disciples of Ms. Yang.

After the death of Ms. Yang Wendi, many of her disciples inherited the teacher’s teachings and spread them everywhere. The spontaneously formed folk schools include: Wang Style (Wang Qian’e), Zhu Style (Zhu Wenjian), Ying Style (Ying Meifeng) , Shi style (Shi Huihe), and Ling style (Ling Jianda), the Mulanhua frame boxing, which was inevitably a bit innate, formed various schools with different styles that complement each other. Later, Mr. Feng Rulong of the Shanghai Wushu Academy accepted the proposal. Renamed Mulan Flower Boxing as "Mulan Boxing".

Perhaps due to the influence of some kind of force, Mulan Quan, after going through a period of constant disputes among hundreds of schools of thought, finally had the opportunity to break away from the narrow frames of each school and form an elegant, scientific and more unique style. A complete system of artistic charm.

In the 1980s, Mr. Li Gang, then the chief of the Public Security Section of the Great World, had a unique eye and acted as a "Bo Le". He discovered Mulan Boxing, which was still in the stage of folklore at that time. He initiated the establishment of the "China World Martial Arts Competition Exchange Center" and then established China's first Mulan Boxing activity organization with superior approval, the "China Mulan Boxing World Federation". Later, he and his staff also invited representatives from various schools and people from all walks of life to conduct discussions and compilation activities. The boxing styles of each school were refined and new connotations were added, thus forming the "Chinese Mulan Boxing" that marked the development of Mulan Boxing to a high level. Since then, Mulan Quan finally got rid of the fate of being a folk fitness movement scattered among the morning training teams, and turned into an "organized and disciplined" formal institution. Shanghai World is its "base".

As the founder of "Chinese Mulan Boxing", Li Gang realized that if he wanted to carry forward Mulan Boxing, he must establish a complete set of sound systems as a strong backing for development. So, he used his spare time to hire a group of amateur and part-time senior teachers to compile and publish a book. After careful planning, conception and creation, Chinese Mulan Quan formed twelve basic routines, ten additional routines, and ten high-quality performances. Routine, a scientific system of six simplified health routines. From the name of the routine to the boxing score, from the form of expression to the pattern of the routine, from the use of props and music selection, a series of positioning has been made. As a result, Mulan Quan began to flourish.

So where did Ms. Yang learn Huajia Quan? In all the information about Mulan Quan, this has always been a mystery. Some people say that Ms. Yang learned it from a mysterious martial arts master; another theory says that the mysterious master is actually Yan Feixia, the head of the Kongtong Sect.

It was mentioned in Zhang Yuanxia’s book "The Untold Secret of Neijia Kung Fu" that there is indeed such a mysterious master with a name and surname, who is famous among everyone in the Shanghai Huajiaquan circle. As everyone knows, but for some unknown reason, the name of this master is gradually no longer mentioned by people as time goes by. On the contrary, "Mulanhua Boxing" has been increasingly developed through the unremitting efforts of Ms. Yang and her disciples. grew stronger.
