How to take the general high school academic proficiency test?
Province-wide unified examination
The general high school academic proficiency test mainly measures the degree to which students meet the learning requirements stipulated by the state. According to the national general high school curriculum standards and educational examination regulations, the province's unified propositions are implemented , unified examination, unified grading, and examination results are an important basis for students to graduate and enter higher education.
Divided into qualifying exams and selective exams
Starting from the first year of high school in the fall of 2018, the academic proficiency exam is divided into qualifying exams and selective exams.
The qualification examination covers all subjects
The qualification examination results are the main basis for student graduation and recognition of high school equivalent academic qualifications. All students in ordinary high schools must take the qualification examination, and students in secondary vocational schools and members of the public can also sign up to take the qualification examination.
The qualifying examination covers all subjects stipulated in the national curriculum plan, including Chinese, mathematics, foreign languages, ideological and political education, history, geography, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, general technology, music, art, and physical education. 14 subjects including health.
The content scope of the qualifying examination is the compulsory content stipulated in the general high school subject curriculum standards.
The qualifying examination is organized twice a year, in May and December respectively. Regular high school students and secondary vocational school students must take the exam for the first time no earlier than the end of the first semester of senior high school. In principle, there should be no more than four exam subjects for the first grade of senior high school. All qualifying exams must be completed before the end of the first semester of senior high school. Social workers can arrange their own qualifying examination subjects. Students in ordinary high schools should apply for optional examination subjects on the basis of passing the qualifying examination results in the corresponding subjects.
The results of the selective examination will be included in the total score
Candidates who take the Unified General College Entrance Examination should take the selective examination of the selected subjects.
The optional examination subjects include 6 subjects including ideological and political, history, geography, physics, chemistry, and biology. Students will choose the subjects based on the requirements of relevant majors in colleges and universities and their own interests and specialties. Choose 3 out of 6 subjects to take the optional exam, and the results will be included in the candidate's total score.
Among them, you should choose 1 subject from history and physics, and 2 subjects from ideological politics, geography, chemistry, and biology.
***There are 12 combinations
There are theoretically 12 combinations for selecting test subjects. The specific combinations are as follows:
Candidates How to determine the subjects to be selected?
The scientific and reasonable selection of subjects is mainly based on your own interests, strengths and advantages, the subject requirements for college admissions majors, and the conditions for running ordinary high schools.
First, candidates can choose according to their preference for each subject based on personal ambitions, hobbies, own advantages and other factors.
Second, candidates should choose subjects based on the requirements of the relevant majors of the college they are applying for.
Third, candidates can choose based on the running conditions, characteristics and advantages of their high school.
When will the choice of test subjects be determined?
The choice of test subjects will be chosen by students after the passing test and will be finalized when registering for the college entrance examination. You can change the selected subjects before registering for the college entrance examination, but in actual operation, it is recommended to consider carefully.
How to take the optional test
The selected test is unified by the province’s unified propositions, unified examinations, unified organization of marking, and unified announcement of results.
The selective examination will be implemented from 2021 and will be organized once a year. The time is scheduled to be held at the same time as the national unified college entrance examination in June of that year. Ordinary high school students can only take the optional exam in their third year of high school.
The duration of each subject of the optional exam is 90 minutes. The full score of each subject is 100 points. The test results are valid for the current year.
Physics and history are presented as raw scores
Select physics or history as the test subject and are presented as raw scores and will be included in the candidate's total score.
The remaining 4 subjects will be graded according to grades
The scores of the remaining 4 subjects such as ideological politics, geography, chemistry, and biology will be presented in the form of conversion points according to the grade-pointing method and will be included in the calculation. Candidates' total score.
Rules for grade assignment
The original score of each of the four subjects of ideological and political, geography, chemistry, and biology is 100 points. After conversion, the full score of the assigned score is 100 points. The starting point is 30 minutes.
During the conversion, the original scores of the candidates in each subject will be divided into 5 levels from high to low: A, B, C, D, and E***. The proportion of the number of people in each level is approximately 15, 35, 35, 13 and 2. When the scores of each subject are included in the candidate's total score, the original scores of the candidates in grades A to E will be converted into 100~86, 85~71, 70~56, 55~41, respectively according to the predetermined ratio and the conversion formula. There are five score ranges of 40 to 30 to obtain the candidate's assigned score. The conversion base is the number of people who actually took the elective exam for the subject (excluding those who were absent from the exam and whose results for the subject were canceled due to disciplinary cheating).
The specific formula for grade conversion:
Among them:
Y1 and Y2 represent the original score respectively. The lower limit and upper limit of the interval;
T1 and T2 respectively represent the lower limit and upper limit of the converted partition interval;
Y represents the original score;
T represents the converted score.
Considering that college entrance examination scores are presented in integers, the calculation results of the above formula need to be "rounded".
For example, assume that a student’s original score in the ideological and political subject is 75, and the original score distribution range of the B grade in this subject is 82~61, then the student’s original score in the ideological and political subject belongs to the B grade. The conversion division range of B grade is 85~71, then the conversion of the student's ideological and political subjects is divided into:
The solution is, T≈80.33;
After rounding, the student’s ideological and political subject score is 80 (Figure 2).

How to get admitted to colleges and universities?
Colleges and universities need to set requirements for elective subjects.
Requirements for elective subjects for college admissions majors. Starting from 2021, general colleges and universities enrolling students in Hebei Province must scientifically and rationally set examination subject requirements based on the needs of professional talent training for students' professional foundation. Candidates can apply for the major (category) only if the subjects they choose meet the subject requirements for the corresponding admissions major (category) in colleges and universities. For admissions majors (categories) that have not determined the subject requirements, candidates have no restrictions on the subjects they can select when applying. The subject selection requirements for admissions majors (categories) in colleges and universities should be announced to the public in advance.
The enrollment plan is prepared separately according to the combination of physics subjects and
the combination of history subjects.
Ordinary colleges and universities will strictly follow the previously announced selection of majors to be admitted by the school. Subject requirements, and based on talent training requirements, enrollment plans will be prepared separately according to physics subject combinations and history subject combinations and junior colleges. The requirements for elective subjects will be clarified for each enrollment major. If a certain major can enroll students according to both physics subject combinations and history subject combinations, then separate enrollment plans need to be prepared.
Merge the first batch of undergraduate admissions and the second batch of undergraduate admissions
Admission batches and admission methods. Gradually merge the first batch of undergraduate admissions and the second batch of undergraduates. Starting from 2020, the admissions of general colleges and universities will be divided into two batches: undergraduates and higher vocational (junior college). Increase the number of undergraduate batch candidates’ application forms and the number of times they collect volunteers, so as to meet the needs of candidates’ application forms to the greatest extent.
The volunteers are composed of "professional (type) schools"
Starting from 2021, in the admissions of ordinary colleges and universities, the enrollment plans will be divided into physics subject combinations and history subject combinations. Delineate the minimum admission control scores respectively. Candidates' choices are composed of "professional (type) schools", and parallel volunteer selection is implemented to increase the opportunities for two-way choices between higher education institutions and students.
The specific application and admission procedures will be formulated separately by the Provincial Admissions Committee and will be announced to the public before the end of October 2020.
Promote the reform of classified examination enrollment in higher vocational education
Accelerate the reform of classified examination enrollment in higher vocational education, highlight the rules of talent training in vocational education, and ensure that higher vocational colleges and ordinary colleges and universities have relatively separate entrance examinations. Implement the evaluation method of "cultural quality and professional skills".
