Being a dancer before becoming an R & B singer. She released her debut album in 1998 when she was just 18 years old. Mya was born in Washington D.C. in 1980 and took dance classes as a child and later joined the dance theater group T.W.A. (Tappers With Attitude). After a while she left the troupe to study at the Harlem Dance Theater in New York. Although Mya is best known for her achievements in the dance arts, she actually also enjoys music, and also learned to sing and play the violin during her childhood. Her father is a professional musician. When he learned that his child had the ability to sing and was very serious about entering the entertainment industry, he made an audition tape of Mya and looked around for companies to sign her with. . Eventually, Mya's voice caught the attention of Haqq Islam, president of University Music. He signed Mya to a contract and recruited her to Interscope Records.

The summer of 2003 produced many golden songs of girl R&B music. First it was Monica, then Beyonce and Ashanti, and now it is Mya's turn and her "Moodring".

The biggest feeling this album gives people is that it is an album full of Mya’s independent thinking and personality. Through Mya’s three albums, it is not difficult to see the footprints of Mya’s growth.

If you compare this album with her debut five years ago, you can clearly feel Mya's maturation. In this album, she transformed from the good girl in the past to a sexy kitten. From the cover of this album You can also see the design, which seems to have announced that Mya has grown up. She should have more thoughts of her own and choose her own path and lifestyle.

In Mya's first two albums, many big-name stars participated in the production. This time she also hired Missy Elliott, the eldest sister of female rap music, to sing the album's first single " Producer of "My Love Is Like...Wo". In this album, Mya's voice is more mellow, especially in the song "Fallen". It is very obvious in the two songs "Sophisticated Lady" and "Anatomy 1 on 1". The bohemian spirit of American youth. This kind of debauchery was reined in in the two songs "Things Come & Go" and "You", a collaboration with Sean Paul, which prevented this album from completely becoming a stage for Mya to take off her clothes.
