Gaojia opera is a local opera in Fujian Province.

Gaojia Opera is one of the traditional local dramas of the Hokkien language family. It is a local traditional drama in Quanzhou City and Xiamen City, Fujian Province, and one of the national intangible cultural heritages.

Gaojia Opera, also known as "Gejia Opera", "Jiujiao Opera", "Daban" and "Tuban", was born in Quanzhou, Fujian. It originated from a popular style in rural areas of southern Fujian in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. A costume parade in which Liangshan heroes are dressed up and perform martial arts skills; there are more than 900 traditional repertoires of Gaojia opera, and the repertoire is divided into "qiaodian opera" (court opera and martial arts opera), "Xiufang opera" and "Choudan opera" Three major categories.

The roles of Gaojia Opera were originally only Sheng, Dan, and Chou. Later, Jing, Tie, Wai, Mo, Bei (Jing), and Zase were added successively; the performing arts of Gaojia Opera came from Liyuan. Opera, puppet show, Yiyang opera, Hui opera and Peking opera; the music singing style of Gaojia opera is mainly Nanqu, with "puppet tune" and folk minor tunes also used; the musical instruments used in Gaojia opera are divided into two types: literary and martial music.

The musical instruments used in Gaojia opera are divided into literary music and martial arts. Wen music mainly includes suona, accompanied by dongxiao, sanxian and erxian, and later added pipa, yangqin, erhu, zhonghu, violin and cello; martial music includes hundreds of drums, small drums, tong drums, duoban, large and small gongs, Large and small cymbals, especially the ringing cymbals and the small cymbals, have strong local characteristics and are indispensable percussion instruments for ugly Dan operas or relaxed scenes.
