Taishan University, located in Tai'an City, Shandong Province, is a full-time general undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education.

The school’s predecessor was Tai’an Normal College, which was established in 1958. Its history of running the school can be traced back to the Tai’an Government Normal School founded in 1905 (the 31st year of Emperor Guangxu’s reign in the Qing Dynasty). In 1999, five municipal schools in Tai'an City merged to form the new Tai'an Normal College. In 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was renamed Taishan College.
