Creative background:

In the autumn of 2010, Liu Huan accepted the invitation from director Zheng Xiaolong to compose the soundtrack for "The Legend of Zhen Huan". At that time, Liu Huan was still in the United States. When "The Legend of Zhen Huan" was about to shoot the scene where An Lingrong sang, the crew remembered that they should send the song demo. Because the incident happened suddenly, Liu Huan started writing in advance.

On the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Liu Huan canceled the party he had arranged with his friends and started writing songs at home. In two days, he composed the interludes "Plucking Lotus", "Golden Threaded Clothes", "Jinghong Dance" and "Bodhisattva Man", and then he had the motive and melody of "Phoenix Flying". However, the recording of the songs was completed in the autumn of the following year, after all the episodes had been edited.
