"Sakura" is a Japanese folk song that was composed at the end of the Edo period and later compiled by the famous Japanese musician Shimizu Shu. It is known as "Japan's first national music". The music score selected in the textbook is arranged by Japanese composer Osamu Shimizu, and the lyrics are translated and dubbed by Zhang Biqing. Issued in October 1888.
"Sakura" is also the opening song of Japan Radio International's various language radio programs. It is played for the symphony and interspersed with the host's opening greetings. This is the version found in primary school music textbooks in my country.
