Eason Chan (July 27, 1974) is a famous male singer and actor in Hong Kong. Considered by many to be one of the leading figures in the new era of Hong Kong pop music, he is also considered by most to be the successor to Hong Kong pop music icon Jacky Cheung and a new generation of "god of song" in the Hong Kong music scene. At the same time, he is also another Hong Kong singer who has achieved success in Taiwan after Jacky Cheung. In 2003, he became the second Hong Kong singer to win the Taiwan Golden Melody Award for "Best Mandarin Male Singer". Eason Chan was once described by Time magazine as a figure who influenced the style of the Hong Kong music scene. In 2010, Eason Chan was selected into the "30 Years Classic Selection" of the Global Chinese Music Hall's Chinese Golden Melody Awards, becoming the only representative of singers who debuted in the 1990s. In April 2013, he served as the music instructor (with Luo Dayou, Zheng Jun, and Zhang Ziyi) of the large-scale inspirational music reality show "China's Strongest Voice" promoted by Hunan Satellite TV.
