Xu Yan is currently a dance lecturer at the Music Department of Chaoyang Normal College. Graduated from the Dance Department of Shenyang Conservatory of Music in July 1991. From 2004 to 2006, he studied in the Music Department of Shenyang Normal University and received a bachelor's degree. He holds a teacher qualification certificate from the Chinese Dance Grade Examination of Beijing Dance Academy. The choreographed dances have won many awards in various activities in the province, including: winning the Outstanding Instructor Award in the Basic Music Skills Competition for Elementary Education Students in Liaoning Normal Colleges; the choreographed dance "That Sea" won the Basic Music Skills Competition in Liaoning Province.
