Danny Boardman, a pianist at sea and a coal worker on a cruise ship, unexpectedly found an abandoned newborn baby on the piano in the first class cabin, packed in an empty carton of TD lemons. Because of the belief in raising this baby independently, and to commemorate this special day, he was named: 1900. 1900 (played by Tim Roth), who was born at sea, is a person who has never existed on land. He has no relatives, no household registration, and no nationality. The sea is his cradle, and he also berths back and forth with the Virginian. Each dock gradually grows up. However, the good times did not last forever. A sea accident caused the accidental death of Danny, who was raising 1900. Fortunately, miraculously, everyone on the ship was awakened by the beautiful sound of the piano late one night. They followed the sound of the piano and found that it was Wu Shi. The self-taught 1900 played selflessly in front of the piano, and the moving melody moved everyone. From then on, 1900 embarked on a journey of playing piano on the sea, attracting more and more admiring tourists. Max (played by Pruitt Taylor Vince) comes to the Virginian to join the band accompaniment by chance. He also meets the legendary sea pianist 1900, and the two become friends. And after 1900 competed in piano skills with Jerry, the legendary pianist who invented jazz, the momentum became even greater. But despite Max repeatedly encouraging 1900 to get off the ship and show his talent to the world, 1900 has never set foot on land. It wasn't until he was recording a solo album for a record company that he unexpectedly saw a pretty and charming girl outside the cabin, and was moved to compose "1900's Theme". As the girl disembarked and left, 1900's heart began to fluctuate.
