In May 1913, Li Shutong taught in Zhejiang No.1 Normal University, and published Baiyang magazine in the name of Zhejiang Teachers' Alumni Association. This is a comprehensive publication, and music accounts for a large proportion. The magazine republished the preface he wrote for Little Music Magazine.

Li Shutong published a three-part chorus "Spring Tour" with staff, which is the first chorus work written by western composition method in modern China. In 1993, it was awarded as a classic work of Chinese music in the 2th century.
