Therefore, if you are a musician, you will be punished for it, and you will be humbled for it. Expropriation and punishment have one meaning (3). If you leave the office
to punish, you must obey; If you are so humble, you will have to obey. Therefore, if you are happy, the world will be in harmony, and the discipline of neutralization will inevitably lead to human feelings. It's the art of Wang Lile first. And Mozi is not, what can I do?

. Therefore, music can be used for conquering externally and saluting internally. For
conquest and comity, the function of music is the same. If music is used as a tool for foreign conquest, then no one will not listen. Use music as a means of comity internally, and no one will disobey. Therefore, music is a tool for the whole world, the key to peace in Chiang Kai-shek, and something that people's emotions can never be separated from. This is
the ancient holy king's strategy of setting music. But Mozi is against music. What can we do?

2.4. The reason why the late king decorated with joy was that he was happy. Those who fought in the army (1), the reason why the late king was angry was also. The former king was both happy and angry (2). It is because of joy that the world is at peace with it, and anger and violence are afraid of it. Before Wang Zhidao, rites and music were in full swing, but Mozi was not. Therefore, Mozi is to the Tao, still to the white and black, still to the turbidity, still to the Chu and the north.

In the political principles of the ancient holy king, etiquette and music were the major events, but Mozi < P > opposed them. Therefore, Mozi is like a blind man who can't tell the difference between white and black, like a deaf man who can't tell the difference between the clarity and turbidity of sound quality, like
thinking of Chu in the south but looking for it in the north.

2.5 husband's vocal music is also deep in people, and its transformation is also fast, so the first king is willing to write it. If the music is peaceful, the people will not flow; Le Su Zhuang, then the people are together without chaos. If so, then the people will be uneasy about their place and enjoy their hometown, so that they will be satisfied with it. Then fame becomes white, glory becomes great, and people all over the world are unwilling to be teachers. It is the beginning of the king. Le Yaoye takes risks, then the people will flow contemptuously. Flow is chaos, and meanness is strife. If there is chaos, the soldiers will be weak and the enemy will be in danger. If so, the people are uneasy and unhappy in their hometown, which is not enough for them. Therefore, those who abolish rites and music and start with evil sounds are also at risk of insulting. Therefore, Wang Gui's rites and music were the first. His official in the preface also (2) said, "Amend the constitution, punish and reward, prohibit lewd voices, and make them timely, so that vulgar and evil voices dare not be disorderly and elegant, which is also a matter for the teacher."

the city defense will be strong, and the enemy will not dare to invade. In this way, the common people will all be satisfied with their
residence and like their hometown, so as to satisfy their monarch. Then, the reputation of the monarch will be
remarkable, and the glory will be enhanced. There is no one in the world who doesn't want him to be his own monarch. This is the beginning of being king of the world. Music is enchanting, frivolous and evil, then the people will be
lewd, frivolous, despicable and despicable. When people are lewd and frivolous, they will be chaotic; Despicable, you will fight. If you mix chaos and fight for it, your troops will be weak, your city will be invaded, and the enemy will come to harm you. In this way, at the end of
the people will not live in their own homes, they will not like their hometown, and they will not satisfy their
monarch. Therefore, the abandonment of ritual elegant music and the rise of decadent music are the root causes of the country's danger and humiliation. Therefore, the ancient holy king valued the ritual and elegant music and despised the decadent sound. On
discussing official positions, he said: "It is the duty of a teacher to follow laws, censor poetry movements, ban lewd music, and rectify it according to the current situation, so as to prevent barbarian backward customs and evil music from disturbing orthodox elegant music."

Therefore, zicui's clothing (1), the sound of crying, makes people's hearts sad; Carrying a baby ■(2), singing in the martial arts (3), making people feel sad (4); Yao Yezhi's capacity, the voice of Zheng and Wei make people's hearts obscene; Gentlemen, Duan, (5)(6) Zhang Fu, dancing the song "Shao" and "Wu", make people's hearts strong. Therefore, a gentleman's ears don't listen to lewd voices, his eyes don't look at women, and he doesn't speak evil words. These three, the gentleman is cautious.

Wearing armor, wearing a helmet and singing in the army will make people feel sad. The enchanting appearance and the decadent voice of Zheng
s country and defense will make people's hearts lewd; Wearing a wide belt, a dress and a top hat, singing and dancing with the music of Shao and Wu will make people's hearts serious. Therefore, a gentleman
doesn't listen to lewd music, his eyes don't look at a woman's beauty, and his mouth doesn't speak evil language.

After decent music touches people, there will be a harmonious atmosphere to cope with it. The harmonious atmosphere has become a social phenomenon, and then an orderly situation has emerged. harmony when there is singing, and the good or evil atmosphere is also formed, so a gentleman is very cautious about what music he abandons and what music he receives.

then you can have fun without fornication; If you forget morality to satisfy your desires, you will be confused and unhappy. Therefore, music is used to guide people's entertainment. Jin Zhongshi, Qin, Qin, flute and other musical instruments are used to guide people to cultivate morality. After the implementation of music, people yearned for morality. Therefore, music is an important tool for governing the people, but Mozi opposes it.
