The admission requirements for the Curtis Institute of Music are as follows:
1. Application date
Application opening date: September 18; application deadline: December 1st
2. Age requirements
Students who are under 16 years old before September 1st must be accompanied by a guardian throughout the school year; students who are 16 years old or older can enter the school dormitory for accommodation. But rooms are limited.
3. Language scores
Undergraduate and graduate students: TOEFL 79-80 points
4. Application materials

5. Examination requirements
1) Piano major
Application Candidates must perform from memory:
① One complete work by Bach ② One complete Mozart sonata (except K. 545) or Beethoven sonata (except Op. 49) ③ One fast and one A slow solo piano work by Chopin (Chopin’s piano and orchestra works are not accepted) ④ A mainstream solo work (at least 10 minutes in length). The above repertoire selected by the applicant cannot be replaced.
2) Vocal music:
Preliminary test repertoire:
The three preliminary test repertoires (fragments) (should) include accompaniment and reflect different music (styles) and rhythm. Please ensure that the recording quality is good, because it is related to whether you can participate in the on-site interview
On-site interview:
On-site interviewers need to sing four pieces off-script, and the pieces must show their timbre and sound quality With musical skills, the repertoire is as follows:
① One English song (non-translated work) ② Three standard oratorio pieces, German art songs from any period, Italian classical songs, or French and English songs. ③ It is best to sing an opera or oratorio aria, but it is not mandatory.
The school provides accompanists, but applicants can also bring their own accompanists. The final round of interviews may involve a simple test of the applicant's mastery of music theory and sight-reading ability.
