What period followed the Baroque period?

The Baroque period came to an end in the 18th century with the transformation of its distinctive style into the Rococo style.

Rococo, originally meant "shell-shaped". A style of architecture and fine arts. It is characterized by advocating gorgeousness and delicacy. It was popular during the period of King Louis XV of France. Music history calls the music between 1725 and 1775 Rococo music. This period extends from the Baroque period to the Classical period.
