"The Trumpeter and the Drummer" is the first of five ditties, also called "The Trumpet and the Drum." It is a march in C minor, in 4/4 time. It starts with a 4-bar introduction, and then plays a bright march theme, showing the cute look of children marching in line while playing drums and trumpets.
