I think the animated movie "Your Name" is very good. And I don’t think this is a sign of low emotional intelligence. "Your Name" is a typical Shinkai-style animated film. Gleaming railways and trams, delicate and realistic life scenes, and science fiction elements appear repeatedly in his works, which are highly recognizable. Since this is the first time that Makoto Shinkai's film has been officially introduced into the country, for many old movie fans, "Your Name" is still a familiar taste, but it has a completely different movie-watching experience from before.
First, let’s talk about the script. This is also the "sense of distance" routine that Xin Haicheng is accustomed to.
What is "sense of distance"? It can be understood as: the distance between the one who misses and the one who is missed, which here refers to the lovesickness of Mitsuha and Taki. Makoto Shinkai is almost obsessed with this method of expressing the emotions between the male and female protagonists through the distance of longing and the distance in space when writing scripts.
Let’s talk about music. In this work, the talented singer-songwriter Yojiro Noda is also a major contributor that cannot be ignored. His role is not only to add icing on the cake, but also to use strengths and avoid weaknesses. Makoto Shinkai is very clever in using music to avoid some shortcomings.
What is this shortcoming? The main shortcomings lie in the arrangement of storyboard transitions and rhythm advancement. It doesn't matter if the performance is not well done or the storyboarding is not accurate enough. Excellent music can help make up for the emotional advancement and transformation of the audience. Whether it is the fast-paced montage and time-lapse photography of "Previous Lives" or the fatal blow delivered to the audience's fragile hearts in "Sparks". In fact, Noda Yojiro's performance completely exceeded the imagination of Shinkai Makoto and the audience.
As for the anime "Your Name", it can be said to be "perfect" and interprets almost all "long-distance relationships" love. After you read it, you can't help but feel a strong scream of excitement, and you will find that isn't that who you used to be? You have been loving that person foolishly, and you will still think of that person even if you are separated. But as time goes by and space becomes isolated, you will gradually find that the promises you once kept and the throbbing you once had have long since Disappeared!
So I think this is a classic animated movie, it’s really good, and I hope everyone can watch it.
