Mantovani, known as the world's greatest light musician, was born in 1905 in a musical family in Venice, Italy. His father was the concertmaster of the Toscanini Orchestra. Mantovani studied violin under the guidance of his father since he was a child. In his youth, he was admitted to the London College of Music. At the age of 16, he performed publicly the violin concertos of Bruch and Saint-Saint-6-1.
