The highest piano level at the Central Conservatory of Music is Level 9. 2. To apply for the Central Conservatory of Music Level 9 piano exam, you need a Level 2 Sound Basics Certificate. You can skip the piano exam but not the Music Basics exam. You can only apply for piano without a tone grade certificate. Candidates within Level 4 who are taking the exam for the first time or who have the ability to skip a grade need to take an additional test on the key pieces of the previous level (the additional test is allowed to be performed with music scores) and pay an additional exam fee for the previous level.

Music Basic Certificate: A certificate for passing the basic music knowledge examination. The assessment content is mainly about some common sense of music: understanding of the beat and rhythm in music, as well as simplified musical notation, staff notation, singing ability, etc.
