Introduction to the Dalian Campus of Shenyang Conservatory of Music

Shenyang Conservatory of Music is the only higher music and art college with a long history and glorious tradition in Northeast China. She originated from the Yan'an Lu Xun Art Institute, the first art school of our party, initiated and founded by the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries such as Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai in 1938. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the college moved from Yan'an to Northeast China and settled in Shenyang. In 1958, it was renamed Shenyang Conservatory of Music. Through the joint efforts of several generations of "Shenyin people", the college has continued to grow and develop, becoming a well-known higher art institution in China. It currently has four undergraduate teaching facilities: the main campus, the South Campus, the Taoxian Campus, and the Dalian Campus. campus, as well as the Affiliated Secondary Music School and the Affiliated Secondary Dance School.

In 2005, with the approval of the Liaoning Provincial Government, Shenyang Conservatory of Music established the Dalian campus in the Jinshitan National Tourism Resort in the Dalian Development Zone. The campus is located at No. 33 Jinshi Road, Jinshitan, surrounded by mountains and sea, with beautiful scenery. The campus covers an area of ??210,000 square meters and has a construction area of ??160,000 square meters. It has a built-up area of ??120,000 square meters, including 40,000 square meters of teaching buildings, 25,000 square meters of student apartment buildings, 21,000 square meters of teaching auxiliary buildings, and 34,000 square meters of faculty residential buildings.

The current dean of the Dalian campus is Professor Wei Huang, and the party branch secretary Professor Sun Li. The campus has a vocal music department, a piano department, an orchestral department, a music education department, a folk music department, a dance department and an affiliated music and dance school. At present, the construction of disciplines and majors is becoming increasingly complete, the professional structure and layout are becoming more and more perfect, and the teaching level is constantly improving, gradually forming a multi-level music and dance education system based on traditional majors such as undergraduate education and secondary professional education. The Dalian campus started recruiting students in 2006. There are currently 1,374 undergraduate students and 128 students from the affiliated music and dance school, totaling 1,502 students.

The party committee of the college attaches great importance to the construction of the teaching staff of the Dalian campus and has introduced a group of high-quality and high-level teachers at home and abroad. There are currently 245 faculty members, including 18 professors, 18 associate professors, 4 with doctoral degrees, and 92 with master's degrees. The campus has art practice groups such as the Youth Symphony Orchestra, the National Orchestra and the Choir composed of young teachers and outstanding students. They serve the regional economic, cultural and spiritual civilization construction centered on Dalian at a high level and lead advanced music culture.

The campus has teaching facilities such as piano rooms, multimedia classrooms, computer classrooms, electronic piano classrooms, reading rooms, multifunctional halls, observation halls, and chamber music classrooms. The campus recruits students from all over the country (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan). Upon graduation, students are awarded the "Shenyang Conservatory of Music" ordinary undergraduate diploma produced by the Ministry of Education, and are awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree.

The Dalian campus will uphold the glorious tradition of "Lu Yi", build on Shenyin's more than 70 years of schooling history, rely on the excellent teaching staff and the unique charm of Dalian, a coastal city, and move towards the construction of The school-running goal of a "high-level, distinctive and international" teaching and research music school continues to advance.
